I've got you covered with an amazing itinerary that I personally used when I visited Switzerland. Feel free to choose your favorite activities and customize the schedule to suit your preferences.

Day 1

Arrival to Zurich.

Zurich served as my anchor city throughout my entire stay in Switzerland, which meant long train rides to certain activities.

It's a great idea to plan for a day of relaxation or light exploration on your first day, considering the possibility of plane delays and the potential effects of jet lag. This will allow you to ease into your Swiss adventure at a comfortable pace.

Day 2

Tour Zurich.

Although I didn't have the chance to thoroughly explore Zurich until my last day, I suggest prioritizing it at the beginning of your trip to develop a deeper appreciation for the city and its surroundings. I recommend taking a guided tour that will not only showcase the historical and cultural significance of various sites but also provide valuable insights.

Day 3

Travel to Jungfraujoch (The Top of Europe).

Jungfraujoch, also known as the "Top of Europe," is an expensive breathtaking destination located within the Swiss Alps. It offers panoramic views and a unique experience of being at the highest railway station in Europe. Although this is an all-day journey to get there, the spectacular views you'll encounter throughout make it absolutely worth it.

Transportation Route:

1.     Train from Zurich to Interlaken Ost (2 hours) (Included in Eurail pass)

2.     Train from Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald Terminal (30 mins)

3.     Gondola ride from Grindelwald Terminal to Eiger Glacier (15 mins)

4.     Train from Eiger Glacier to Jungfraujoch (30mins – This train ride is enclosed, so there are no opportunities to enjoy the surrounding views.)

(To return, simply do this same route in reverse. There are alternative options available, but I personally chose to stick with the familiar path as I was already tired and did not have the energy to get lost.)

Day 4

Journey to Rhine Falls.

Rhine Falls is a stunning waterfall that captivates with its natural beauty and is located approximately 50 minutes away from Zurich.

Transportation Route:

1.     Train from Zurich → Neuhausen Rheinfall (50 minutes) (Included in Eurail pass)

Day 5

Kayak in Lake Bienz

Outdoors in Interlaken, Switzerland is an exceptional company offering exhilarating activities for adventure seekers. I had the opportunity to kayak in the middle of January, and the views of the mountain were truly out of this world. Don’t worry, Outdoors offers activities throughout the year!

 Transportation Route:

1.     Train from Zurich to Interlaken Ost (2 hours) (Included in Eurail pass)

a.     You have the option to take a connecting train to Interlaken, which allows you to make a pit stop in Bern, just as I did! (1 hr from Zurich to Bern)

2.     Walk (30 mins) or take a bus to the meeting spot (10 min bus ride and ticket can be bought on SBB app)

Day 6

Ride the Glacier Express.

The Glacier Express in Switzerland is a legendary train journey that travels through majestic valleys and mountains. Visiting during the winter season was amazing because I stepped into a winter wonderland and definitely enjoyed my Polar Express experience. But honestly, it does not matter when you visit because the views are gorgeous any time of year.

The Glacier Express train offers different segments that you can take, and I had the privilege of experiencing the awe-inspiring journey between Chur and Andermatt firsthand. To witness these breathtaking views, you have two options:

Transportation Options:

1. Opt for the direct route on the Glacier Express itself

2. Choose the more affordable alternative of regular trains that run on the same track as the Glacier Express. These trains are covered by your Eurail pass, granting you the freedom to explore any town along the way. Transporatation route below:

a. Train from Zurich to Chur (1 hour )

b. Train from Chur to Disentis/Mustér (1 hour)

c. Train from Disentis/Mustér to Andermatt (1 hour)

(Reverse this route to get back to your hotel)
