Singapore is one of the safest and cleanest countries on the globe, thanks to its strict laws and regulations.
Gum chewing and e-cigarettes are just a couple of things on a list of prohibitions. Since my visit in 2019, Singapore has introduced even more laws to maintain its orderliness. For instance, purchasing or consuming alcohol in public areas is now restricted after 10:30 PM, and you won't find any late-night drinking in licensed premises after 11:59 PM. π°οΈππΈπ¬
Singapore is a diverse melting pot of cultures and languages, with its official languages being English, Malay, Mandarin Chinese, and Tamil.
While this linguistic diversity reflects the rich tapestry of the city-state, fear not! English is widely spoken by the majority of Singaporeans, making it a breeze to navigate your way around and communicate effectively during your stay. ππΊοΈπΈπ¬
CHEAP OR EXPENSIVE?
It can be a bit pricey, with costs that often mirror those of New York City.
CASH OR CREDIT CARD?
I exchanged some Singapore dollars, but truth be told, it wasn't really necessary. The majority of establishments accepted credit cards like Visa and MasterCard. However, it's worth noting that American Express was a bit hit or miss in terms of acceptance at some places."
It didn't give off the typical touristy vibe, as it felt almost like I hadn't left the States.
The main difference was that instead of the usual predominantly white crowd, the streets were bustling with a diverse array of Asian faces.
