Top Highlights of South Africa: Unforgettable Scenery, Wildlife, and Culture

South Africa is undeniably magnificent, with its stunning landscapes, rich culture, and warm hospitality. I only scratched the surface of South Africa, but here are the highlights of my unforgettable experience.

Dance and Music

This was hands-down my favorite part of the trip! South Africa's music and dance scene is exhilarating! From the rhythms of Amapiano to the soulful beats of Afrohouse, I found myself having a spiritual experience connecting with the motherland. Also, the locals in Johannesburg welcomed me with open arms as they taught me their dance moves. A truly magical experience!

Wildlife

Encountering wildlife is an everyday occurrence in South Africa! From goats casually strolling across the streets to fun swims with penguins and unforgettable safari drives, the opportunities for wildlife experiences are limitless. During our safari adventures in Kruger National Park, we saw elephants, rhinos, giraffes, leopards, lions, and zebras up close! It was the real-life version of the Lion King in there!

Scenery

Cape Town's landscape gives California vibes with the breathtaking views from its own coastal highway. Additionally, you can get panoramic views from atop Table Mountain (make sure to bring a jacket though because it can get chilly being that high!). Situated between mountains and beaches, Cape Town offers a picturesque blend of natural wonders.

Wine

Cape Town's renowned wineries lived up to their reputation! Though I haven't been much of a wine enthusiast and have stopped social drinking for the past two years, I couldn't resist a wine tasting while here. To my surprise, I discovered the sweetest red wine! It literally tasted like juice. It was so amazing that I couldn't resist bringing home two bottles to share with my family. And the best part? Each bottle cost only $7!
